Thank you for joining us today for Kapenzo™ Hair Tip of the Week. We all want to know how to take proper care of our skin. The most important thing that all beauticians and cosmeticians will advise you prior to using any products on your skin is to ensure that the products are right for your skin type. Below is a list of tips and tricks that you may find useful.
Always have a doctor, cosmetician or beautician perform a skin analysis which involves asking questions and paying close attention to the skin’s surface to determine your skin type and any skin conditions that you may have. All consultants are different in the ways they analyze the skin, this may involve touch or even using a product to get further confirm their diagnosis. This greatly affects the type of product that you will use on your skin and how you will react to it.
Face washes come in two main types of formulas. These are oil based and water based. Oil based cleansers are not ideal for the skin as they tend to leave a film on the skin that may clog pores. Water based formulas get deep down to clean the pores out and will always leave the skin feeling refreshed.
Toners and Astringents are often thought of as being the same and as a result are wrongly used. Toners are made for people with normal to dry and sensitive skin. They do the same job as astringents, however are milder on the skin and do not contain alcohol. Astringents have antiseptic properties and while you may think this is a good idea for a deep clean, they will irritate the skin and cause excessive drying. Astringents also tend to have a small percentage of alcohol in them and are generally recommended for persons with oily, combination or acne-prone skin.
Customers looking for moisturizers should always obtain one with an SPF in it as this helps protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Without SPF we are putting our bodies at risk of developing skin cancer and we are also destroying the pigment in our skin.
When spending extended periods of time in the sun, it is always recommended to apply a sunscreen 30 minutes before exposure and every 30 minutes to an hour depending on the level of SPF used.
As we end the tips for today there is one thing that you must always remember:
