Quick Tricks to a Healthy Glow:

It is recommended to exfoliate your skin once a week, maybe twice as this helps remove the dead surface skin cells and encourage healthy blood circulation. With proper blood circulation, the pores will also increase and decrease in size to reserve moisture and nutrients and remove impurities. This can be done after washing your face or as a substitute for face wash for that day.
Grapes are excellent for the skin because it is known for its antioxidant properties. They help to cleanse the blood and skin on the inside, by removing impurities underneath the skin. This will then produce lasting results externally.

If there is an increase in the amount of oil that your body is producing, and you are starting to get break outs, it may be a sign that there are hormonal changes and you may need to wash your face more than twice for the day. Generally if there is a change in products, this may happen for 2-3 weeks as your skin is experiencing some difficulty getting accustomed to the new products. If the problem persists for more than 3 weeks, consult a doctor as it may require medication.

How to select the correct foundation:

The most important thing to remember is always determine your undertone color. Whether you are a lady of color, Caucasian or Asian, we will either have a yellow undertone or a red undertone and this is easily detected by comparing a pink and a peach swatch against your skin. If the pink swatch seems to brighten your face, then you are said to have a red undertone. If the peach swatch compliments your skin tone, then you are said to have a yellow undertone. Without determining your undertone, purchasing foundation may present a problem as it may cause dark circles to appear darker, or give off the impression of sickness.

Your foundation is supposed to match your neck, not the other way around. If you go according to the tone of your face for your future foundation purchases, you may be faced with a darker coverage than you expected.

The most important thing that all beauticians and cosmeticians will advise you prior to using make up is to take care of your skin and preserve its natural beauty. Below is a list of tips and tricks that you may find useful.

Skin Care and Successful Makeup Application guide:

The most important thing to remember before applying your makeup is to clean your face. Never apply makeup on top of the skin if it has not been cleansed. This will cause the pores of the skin to become clogged and bacteria to start growing, resulting in acne.
-There are 3 products that must be used to cleanse the skin. First is an oil-free face wash. This will allow the products to penetrate the skin and remove all impurities that are deep in the pores, leaving the skin feeling refreshed. In addition to this, a face wash that contains oil will leave a film on the skin that can cause irritation to pre-existing pimples.

-After cleansing it is very important to use a toner. The skin is made up of a pH Balance which measures the alkalinity and acidity of our skin on a scale of 1-10, 1-5.2 being acidic and 5.6-10 being alkaline. The normal pH Balance ranges from 5.3-5.5. The chemicals in almost all face wash tend to throw the pH Balance off scale, however toners help bring it back to normal. It also helps remove any makeup residue that was not removed with a face wash, giving your skin that vibrant glow. Without a toner, the skin will appear dry and depending on the sensitivity of your skin, may cause it to hurt when touched.

-The last step to the cleansing process is moisturizing. A light moisturizer is always recommended as heavy ones may clog pores and interfere with the skins natural oil content.

- Once these three steps have been completed, wait 10 minutes before starting your makeup application. This allows for the products to penetrate your skin and assist in cell regeneration.

- Primer is a silicone based product that will help to even out the skin’s surface but allow the pores to breath. This is an optional product and if used, must be applied before any other makeup product.

-There are three products that are first applied when makeup is done. The concealer will help camouflage dark circles and spots such as under the eyes are scars on the face that may have resulted from acne. Then a foundation is applied to the entire face to blend the concealer. Lastly, a finishing powder is used to set the makeup and make the application last longer.

-It is always best to start any makeup application with the eyes first as this allows for products that may fall, to be removed without disrupting the rest of the application.

-Blush may be used to either add color to the cheeks or enhance the cheeks bones. This should be applied in either a downward motion or inward motion, depending on your face shape and purpose of applying blush.

- Our last tip for today is when applying lip colors; always use a lip liner that is either a neutral color or a color that matches the lipstick you intend to wear. Lip liners help to prevent the lip colors from bleeding and looking messy.
